Committees

The East Andersonville Residents' Council is a non-profit membership organization comprised of residents and businesses in the neighborhood. We are dedicated to ensuring that East Andersonville remains a diverse, vibrant and safe community for residents and visitors alike.

The strength of our organization comes from our various committees.

Come join us so that we can work together to keep our neighborhood Chicago's best place to live, work, learn and play!

Newsletter & Communications

The Newsletter & Communications Committee oversees the preparation and distribution of the neighborhood newsletter, oversees the Association website, responds to email messages, and handles general marketing issues for EARC. The eastandersonville.org website exists in tandem with the newsletter and includes important information on the history, happenings and resources for the community. Both are produced with information gathered from the SNA Board of Directors, our public officials and the City of Chicago to ensure communication of important information to our membership. Input from Association members and neighbors is very welcome.

Safety & Traffic

The Traffic & Safety Committee serves as liaison to government agencies and other organizations concerning the condition and safety of the neighborhood. It works closely with representatives of CAPS (Community Alternative Policing Strategy)

Special Events

EARC Events Committee oversees and coordinates events, meetings, and related functions to serve the interests and the needs of the East Andersonville community. Annual Events include the Summer Block Party, Autumn Hot Dog Social, and Winter Wine & Cheese Event as well as the East Andersonville Residents' Council Annual Meeting, and periodic social and fundraising events for members and the community.

Membership

This committee monitors association membership renewals, welcomes new residents, and actively seeks new members and partners within the East Andersonville neighborhood. Additionally, this committee maintains the membership database and works to discover the interests and concerns and tap the talents of new members who wish to volunteer.

Garden & Beautification

The Garden & Beautification Committee strives to preserve and protect the neighborhood’s greenspaces including parks and walkway. Together we work to encourage greenspace initiatives throughout the East Andersonville neighborhood.
